Looking good
The Vikings cared about appearances: combs, tweezers and ear-scoops (for getting wax out of ears) are all commonly found in Viking graves and settlements.
Eye-witnesses also describe Viking men sporting tattoos and both men and women wearing eye make-up. But perhaps the most dramatic statement that a Viking could make was with their dress accessories. Beautiful objects of bronze, silver and gold were a good way of showing off status, as well as being a convenient way to keep valuables handy.
